Introduction

I will be working as creative producers within Haribo advertising company, i will do research on current campaigns for a specified product-type in preparation for working on an account for a new campaign for that product.

TV Advert

When analyzing  the advertisement for Haribo, i started off looking at the television advert.
The narrative of the advert is about a wedding photo is about to happen and 2 kids, a girl aged 5-8 and a boy aged 8-12 have a bag of Haribo tangfantastic each, they give everyone a Haribo apart from the bride. When the photo is taken they all eat the sweet. This helped me make the advert effective.

I then looked at the camera shots that were taken during the advert and why they chose those shots. The adverts started with a wide shot to a numerous
amount of close up shots of all the family, the advert finishes with a wide shot of how the photo ended.

I also notice how the mis-en-scene was  used to further help to sell the product. The mis-en-scene is all the added objects and props in the background. There was a white wedding dress that was worn by the bride, there were pink dresses that were worn by the bridesmaids, there were black suits that were worn by the groom and the best man and the boy, there was also a camera used in the photo because there is a photo being taken and the setting is the outside of a church because there has just been a wedding

The sounds used in the advert was the family talking presumably about the wedding, there was also the sound of the photographer telling them that hes ready to take the photo then the advert has the sound of the camera going off.

I think it was a good advert and helped the overall feel of the advert because when the soured sweets are being eaten, everyone that eats the sweets get the same feeling of the sour taste.

The advertising techniques used in the advert was nurture this is because there are children used, there is also the technique compliment the consumer because it makes whoever eats it have tang feeling in your mouth.

The target audience used for this product is both male and female from a range of ages. I think the advert was successful in tempting the audience to buy the product and remember will the product based on what happens in the advert.

Radio Advert

Haribo doesn't have any radio advert so i had to use a TV advert and use the sound from them.

I then had to analyse a radio advert to see if there were any similarities in the styles of advertising that Haribo use.

The style of the radio advert was humorous because the advert is about grown men and women talking in a baby toned voice.

The overall message of the advert was about babies talking about their favorite haribo sweets and this was because in the advert they spoke about what their favorite Haribo like the gummy bear or the ring.

The types of voices used in the advert were male and female baby voices they chose these types of voices because it is more likely to be babies that prefer Haribos.

The tone of language in the advert was conversational as this blended in with the style of the advert because the babies were having a conversion about their favorite haribo.

There was a tag line/slogan in the advert and this was kids and grownups love it so the happy world of haribo And it was mentioned 1 time which was at the end.

The product name itself was mentioned 2 times to make sure you know what you are buying.
The contact details were not mentioned because there is no need to phone haribo

The music used in the advert was only at the end for the slogan an was a beaty sound this was in my opinion effective because if it was at the beginning the audience wouldn't know what it is being advertised because you wouldn't be able to hear what they are speaking about. There were no sound effects used In the advert I think this is better because the advert was a conversation.

The main purpose of the advert was to inform the audience so they buy haribo sweets.

Overall I think the advert was effective on the target audience because the advert is about babies saying what their favorite haribo sweets are this being that if a parent goes shopping they would buy haribo sweets.

Print Advert

After analyzing television and radio adverts for Haribo sweets I then looked at the style of advertising they use in magazine and newspaper adverts.
I started looking at the writing in the advert to see what it was saying and in this case it is 'Discover our new dark bear'  And I feel that it is saying that to make the gummy bears in the advert look like a pint of Guinness. The graphics or images in the advert make us and helps us to make sense of the story or make us relate to the characters in the advert or they make us concentrate on the product, in the advert the words discover our new bear this showing that the pint glass is filled with gummy bears, with the pint bears being dark colors that will relate to the word dark in the phrase 'Dark bear'

The brand is shown because if the brand was not in the print advert we wouldn't know what was in the pint glass  and we wouldn't know what is in the pint glass. I think it is important because the audience want to know what they are looking for incase they want to buy the product.
There are no characters in the ad therefore the gummy bears in the pint glass are the characters in this advert. I think they chose the characters because this print advert is for Haribo sweets and you would like characters that relate for what the adverts is advertising and they are a good selling point because then people know what to look for the next time they want to buy Haribo's
The story of the advert suggest to me that a person had put Haribo gummy bear sweets in a pint glass to make it look like a pint of Guinness.
Although I am unsure of where the advert was placed I feel that it would be best placed in a magazine such as nuts because the intended target audience would also look at and read magazines like that.
The intended target audience for the advert is males , Age 18+ . I feel this because males aged 18+ are into adult magazines and type of beers like Guinness
The advertising techniques used in the advert were injects drama you can tell because making childish sweets look like a pint of beer is a bit dramatic.

Overall I think the advert was effective because in my opinion men that buy adult magazines are more likely to spot this product because of the way the gummy bears are put into a pint glass to look like a pint of Guinness. I feel this advert is good how it has been printed for a magazine and does not need changing.

Summary

After looking at all the types of advertising i noticed the similarities that haribo uses with its adverts for example both the TV advert and the radio advert use the advertising technique nurture because the TV advert uses the 2 children that are giving out the sweets and in the radio advert the voices used are baby voices. Analyzing the radio advert was the hardest because there was no picture  only sound used however the TV and print advert were both easier because there is both a picture and sound.I didn't like analyzing the radio advert because Haribo don't have any radio adverts so i had to use a TV advert and just analyze the sound. I enjoyed analyzing the 3 adverts because they are something i have never done before and would like to do it again later in the years.
